Interview with Jonathan Block as he sets to launch SubOver80 Jiu Jitsu Event

Martial arts in Ireland are growing in popularity as our athletes continue to make headlines worldwide and more people flood into gyms across the country.

And now Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is set to make its mark on the Irish market in 2017.

On February 18th, Jonathan Block, an East Coast Jiu Jitsu blue belt combatant, will introduce his SubOver80 show at the Civic Theatre in Tallaght.

The event will feature two 16 man tournaments with contests being 10 minutes long with EBI rules applied. Bracket number one will feature those who are under 80Kgs with the second one hosting those over 80Kgs.

Jonathan Block stated to Fightstore Media that he was excited to see Karl Moore perform.

“I was fortunate to recruit Karl Moore who is probably like one fight away from the light heavyweight belt in Cage Warriors.”

He added: “I reckon there will be a few more dropouts due to injury within the next four weeks, people will be training pretty hard for it. But hopefully not, everyone on there I want to see on the day.”

Also included on the impressive card is Sam McNally, a European purple belt champion.

You can purchase tickets for the show at www.civictheatre.ticketsolve.com which will commence at 4pm and finish at 8pm.

All information about the event can be found on the Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/SUBOVER80/
